Singer Etta James Hospitalized With Blood Infection

Blues singer Etta James was rushed to the hospital with a potentially deadly infection.

The 73-year-old singer, who is a former heroin addict, was already suffering from dementia, leukemia, and kidney problems before coming down with a deadly infection.

Etta is being treated at a California hospital for Sepsis, which is a form of blood poisoning caused by a urinary tract infection.

The singer?s son Sametto James said, ?It was a really bad infection. Right now she?s doing a lot better.?

Etta James was hospitalized with the same serious infection last year.
