George Clooney is single again

It's true. George Clooney and longtime girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis have split.

"We are not together anymore," the two say in a joint statement that's just been issued. "It's very difficult and very personal and we hope everyone can respect our privacy."

Clooney, 50, and Canalis, 32, have been seeing each other since September 2009. (That's long by Hollywood standards.)
