Cocktails from Miami's Fontainebleau Hotel
Lots of stars ? everyone from rapper Drake to Kim Kardashian to Molly Sims ? have been spotted at Miami's famed Fontainebleau Hotel, tippling and enjoying the South Beach sun, not to mention drinks mixed up by the hotel's bartenders.
"These drinks will put everyone in the mood to party," says David Mokha, the director of beverages at the hotel.
Want to make the drinks yourself? Here are three recipes to try:
Ginger Mint
1. Combine a 1-in. piece of peeled fresh ginger, lightly bruised with knife, 3 tbsp. simple syrup, 10 fresh mint leaves, 3 tbsp. citrus-flavored vodka and � cup fresh lemon juice in an ice-filled shaker and shake vigorously.2. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass and garnish with lemon.
Bella
1. Mash � cup fresh watermelon cubes in a bowl with a fork to release juices; discard solids.2. Mix watermelon juice, 4 tbsp. watermelon-flavored vodka, 2 tsp. simple syrup, 2 tbsp. lime juice and 3 to 4 mint leaves in ice-filled shaker. Shake vigorously.
3. Strain into a cocktail glass; garnish with mint.
Midnight Mojito
1. Squeeze the juice of 1 lime (about 2� tbsp.) into the bottom of a tall glass.2. Add 6 large mint leaves, slightly bruised, then 2� tbsp. light rum, 2 tbsp. vanilla syrup and ice. 3. Top with � cup club soda and stir gently.
4. Thread a blackberry onto a skewer or cocktail stirrer for garnish.
