Pia Toscano, 'DWTS' pro Mark Ballas go on date

Pia Toscano and Mark Ballas went on their first date in Los Angeles on Friday night.

Pia Toscano won't be making sweet music on "American Idol" anymore, but she may be making it with someone else.

The singer, who was eliminated from the show Thursday, had her spirits lifted Friday by dancer Mark Ballas.

Toscano, 22, and the "Dancing with the Stars" pro, 24, went on their first date ? a dinner outing in Los Angeles.

The two stars spent the last few months filming their respective shows on the CBS Television lot in L.A., and their trailers were near each other, People.com reported.

Toscano, who returned home to Howard Beach on Sunday, reportedly "had a crush" on Ballas and was "giddy" to be working so close to him, a source told the site.

But it was "DWTS" contestant Chris Jericho who helped facilitate a meeting.

According to TMZ.com, Toscano had a mutual friend pass her phone number to Jericho, who in turn gave it to the two-time "DWTS" champ.

Ballas, who is also a singer with an album coming out Tuesday, and Toscano reportedly plan to go out again.
