Ashley Cole is confident he'll get ex-wife Cheryl back for good.

The Chelsea and England footballer says they're both ready to prioritise their relationship - especially now Cheryl's twiddling her thumbs after being dropped from US X Factor last month.

'Cheryl is committed to getting us back on track - this time round we come first, not her career,' Ashley, 30, is reported to have told a friend.

'I'm going to get my wife back - fact. No one can look after her better than me. If it takes me my whole life to make it up to her, I will.'

Ashley and Cheryl, 28, are planning to make their rekindled love public any day.

And Ashley insists he's mature enough now to become a dad with the woman he loves.

'Me and Cheryl are like peas in a pod,' Ashley told a mate, claims the Daily Star Sunday.

'I am ready to have a family, so is Cheryl.'
