Video: What Is Going On In This Honda Commercial?

I may be coming a little late to this party, as the commercial in question was apparently loaded to Honda?s YouTube channel on April 20, but I have just seen said commercial for the first time, and honestly, I can?t quite figure out what?s going on. It looks like the beginning of a joke? one of the ?A [blank], a [blank], and a [blank] walk into a bar? variety? and yet?

Hang on. Let me back up a minute. Here are the facts: The commercial is for the new Honda Civic. Or rather, it?s for the new Honda CivicS? plural. There are five different models, and to play up this angle, the commercials are geared towards showing how five completely different individuals can each find the Civic suited to their own individual needs. My confusion generally comes from the choice of individuals. Some of them, I get; others, not so much, mostly because I can?t figure out what they?re supposed to be. Ninja? Okay. I can deal with that. Zombie? Ditto. The guy in the Mexican wrestling mask is a little harder to explain. Who is he? Why is he wearing a suit? Why is he wearing a suit while wearing a Mexican wrestling mask? I?m not sure, and he weirds me a little. But not as much as the strange hairy creature with the pink cardigan and matching lipstick. Is she a troll? A dwarf? No idea. And THEN there?s the guy who apparently keeps his pet fox on his kitchen table. I assume he?s meant to be a lumberjack, but he looks more like a lumberjack by way of Brooklyn.

I just want to know who was responsible for coming up with this list. How did you make it? What were the criteria? WHO IS THE MAN IN THE MEXICAN WRESTLING MASK? The public has a right to know!
