TV tonight: 'Inside the Actors Studio,' 'The Voice'

?When it comes to talk shows, particularly those run by strong personalities, your willingness to watch an interview is usually based as much on your fondness for the interviewer as it is on your interest in the guest.

Often, those two factors work on a sliding scale ? as in, if you want to see the guests badly enough, you'll put up with most any host.

Which brings us to James Lipton's interview tonight on Inside the Actors Studio (Bravo, 8 ET/PT) with the cast of ABC's Modern Family? incredibly talented actors who usually are very funny and charming when they are gathered for a panel.

?The Voice (NBC, 9 ET/PT) switches to live performances tonight.

And because the show has done much better than expected, those live performances are going to last longer than the network had planned.

Let's hope the additions mean there will be more time for actual singing now, as opposed to the pre-battle back stories and overemphatic duets.
