'Idol' finalist Lauren Alaina loses her voice, will still go on

Lauren Alaina may be out of the running if her voice gives out before the 'American Idol' finale.Bet she didn't expect a "moment like this."
"American Idol" hopeful Lauren Alaina had a singer scare Tuesday after losing her voice last-minute during rehearsals, according to TMZ.com.
Fortunately for Alaina, however, modern medicine saved the day and, according to a later report, the show will go on.
"I'm here, I'm ready to sing," the 16-year-old singer said onstage. "I'm fine, don't worry about it."
Host Ryan Seacrest kept worried fans in the loop via Twitter prior to the show.
"I know you guys are wondering about 's voice. I'll address at the top of the show," he tweeted.
The country sweetheart was reportedly straining to sing three songs during rehearsals Tuesday afternoon.
She was able to sing�the first, but struggled through the second and was completely unable to complete the third, according to the report.
If Alaina had been unable to perform for Tuesday night's show, producers would have had to call in third-place finisher Haley Reinhart to croon alongside fellow finalist Scotty McCreery, disqualifying Alaina from the competition.
Alaina is slated to sing an original song, "Like My Mother Does," written by Nicholas Cage's new daughter-in-law Nikki Williams, for the finale.
